Adding a yoga class to my packed schedule of extreme fitness classes was considered to "just be my rest and stretch" day many years ago.  Little did I know it would change my life. I learned that through moving my body and focusing on my breath, I could miraculously find stillness for my mind. 

I continued taking yoga classes and eventually became certified in 2010.  I feel honored to teach as an owner at our studio and observe people every day finding this same powerful way of living by dropping the outside world and just landing on their mats.

My college degrees/licenses in social work, business and exercise personal training enhance the classes I now teach. I especially love to guide students through a powerful experience that creates a strong body and an "innercise" that allows the mind to become still.  Through our breath, laughter and focusing on the present moment, we find self-love, confidence and real transformation in our lives.

Fun Facts: I am a control freak. My family is thankful I go to yoga! I come from a family of musicians and am one myself. I live in Naperville with my husband, two teenagers, and rescued cats and dog. I care deeply about empowering others.

Yoga has been part of my life since 2008.  My practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible, willing to try new things, get uncomfortable and take risks in my life.  Yoga inspires me to live more mindfully and helps me live a more simplified life.

I completed my 200 hour vinyasa training with Baron Baptiste, Power Yoga Institute in 2010.  I have advanced teacher trainings through Live Love Teach as well as Wild Abundant Life with Debbie Williamson.  I continue to learn as a teacher and more importantly, a student.

I combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness along with a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice.  I help others thrive in life by nurturing body, mind, and soul with yoga.  My hope is that you step off your mat feeling refreshed, nourished, balanced and inspired.

Fun Facts: I'm very ordinary. My birthday is the most common date of birth and when I was born, Jennifer was the most popular girl's name. However, my blood type is rare.  My favorite poses are those that challenge me but specifically, half moon. It incorporates everything I love about a yoga pose; balance, elongation and personal expression.

I've been told that I'm the spark that ignites human potential. Yoga changed my life and stirred my desire to become a yoga teacher and coach. I want to help other people change their lives and encourage people to find the answer (or pose!) themselves through exploration.

The world is my workplace. Traveling to Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Americas gave me the opportunity to value people and cultures for who they are. It also gave me the travel bug. Luckily I am able to marry my love of travel and yoga as an international retreat coordinator.

Fun Facts: Our family loves to travel!  At last count we've been to 30 different countries. My favorite is Thailand, hands down followed closely by New Zealand (south island) and Spain.  My favorite yoga pose is trikonasana (triangle) because it makes me feel so strong.  If money were no object I would buy a farm and go rescue every senior dog in the shelters so they would have someone to love them. I would also attend every home game the Cubs and the Ohio State Buckeyes (football) played.

I'm so excited to be part of your yoga journey. I specialize in working with people who are interested in the benefits of exploring a mind-body practice that improves every aspect of life. If you're wanting to feel greater emotional balance, more of a sense of ease in your body, a deepening clarity of mind, and an empowering connection to your true purpose - I would love to invite you to my class.

My classes do not require that you already be flexible, strong and focused. They're for regular people who want to grow, heal and get closer to their best selves. I fell in love with yoga after my first class in 2006. The deep relaxation I felt afterward and the newly created space in my mind and body was transforming for me. The benefits only kept increasing: stress relief, feeling more at home in my body, and developing my mental ability to focus on what I wanted in my life.

Fun facts: Favorite pose is half moon and her favorite food is a mango.  Morton Arboretum is her favorite place.  If money were no object Eva would travel the world teaching yoga.

I took my first yoga class seven years ago and immediately knew it would become my life,  amazed by how it made me feel both calm and energized afterwards.  I believe in the invigorating power that yoga offers the mind, body, and spirit. It attracts like-minded people: peaceful, strong, and encouraging all together in a non-threatening environment.  I love that!

After a couple of years I wanted to take my practice to the next level and completed my 200 hour teacher training at Prairie Yoga in Lisle.  My training is more alignment focused but I continue to  practice in the style of Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga.  Because of this combination of instruction and experience, the foundation of my classes are the guiding priciples of alignment, strength, and moving in a flow.

Fun Facts:  Catherine has a twin brother.  Her favorite place in the world is Negril, Jamaica and her favorite foods are seafood and chocolate but not together.  She would love to expand her world with more travel and yoga-now those two can go together! 


Cindy Effron, Yoga Teacher

Cindy's journey to yoga began in 2008, when she got a taste of yoga at her local health club. Curiosity led her to Power of Your Om Yoga studio in 2009, and within a week she was hooked!

Many people come to yoga looking for an exercise program and find out that is a spiritual practice too. Cindy was hoping for a discipline that would help her deal with stress, and not only found a deep spiritual connection but an intense physical practice as well. Because yoga helped her develop a way to cope with life's challenges and find peace of mind, she found that she wanted to share that discovery with others, and so in 2012 Cindy, and her husband Drew, embarked on the journey to yoga teacher certification with Rolf Gates. 

Fun facts: Cindy LOVES being the Grammy of 5-year-old Aria because it legitimizes playing with toys and acting like a 5-year-old herself! Cindy’s favorite food is ANY type of seafood! Her favorite yoga pose is CROW, her favorite place is anywhere with her family! If money were no object, Cindy would immerse herself in an endless journey of yoga and meditation retreats around the world!

Esther turned to yoga when she realized she was having no patience for her kids. She multi-tasked a lot and got through each day on auto pilot, dwelling on stuff that she had no control over and being blind to realizing she had a wonderful life right in from of her. At one point, her anxiety was taking control and yoga helped her regain it. Yoga also helped her be fully present during he hardest moment of her life.

She wants to help people realize they are already perfect and to stop being frustrated over things out of their control.

Fun Facts: If money were no object, she would travel the world with her family, own a huge house on the beach so she can practice yoga everyday looking at the ocean and have her own makeup line. Her favorite food is steak tacos on flour tortillas with Horchata. Her favorite yoga pose is humble warrior.

Yoga hasn't fixed me or changed me, but it has helped me to understand myself. In the years leading up to my feet hitting a yoga mat for the first time, I was suffering from postpartum depression and I felt out of control. That first day on my mat, I experienced the power of yoga, the calming of my mind, and the physical abilities of my body. I knew in that moment I had found my path in life. I am sarcastic, honest and grounded and I give a kick ass class. Let me use what I've learned on my journey to show you how strong and capable you are.

Fun Facts: I like to twirl my hair and stick it in my ear. My favorite place in the world to be is in my bed with my down comforter. If money was no object, I would live on an island, eat lots of fruit, drink lots of cocktails, and bathe in the ocean and wear minimal clothing.

Kim’s workouts focused on high-intensity classes and running. With injuries, she realized the need for a healthy change. After her first Vinyasa class, she found what her body and mind were craving. Yoga helped her physical body heal and provided the emotional support to deal with her daughter’s cancer battle.

Kim understands there is no right or wrong pose; we come to our mats each day with a different body. By honoring our needs in the moment, we grow physically and emotionally. As an active parent and volunteer, she understands the “beautifully imperfect” lifestyles of her students. Encouraging self-exploration and self-compassion, she provides students opportunities for challenges on and off the mat.

Fun Facts: Her favorite food is fresh-from- the-oven chocolate chip cookies. She is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up, but her heart yearns to help siblings of children with life-threatening illnesses. She is a Wish Granter with Make-A-Wish, and she's helped grant Wishes to more than 50 children in Illinois.

I love to be inspired and to inspire others. I love to tell stories. I love to teach.

I came to yoga filled with apprehension and an inflexible body. I left my first class filled with passion, an open mind, sense of community and knowing that I needed more. I wanted to share my new "little secret to happiness" with whoever would listen. That lead me down the path of the 200 hour teacher training with Theresa Wilson Yoga.

My student's strength and ability to push their limits inspire me. I'll push you to your edge while sweating out your junk. When you leave the room, I want you to feel empowered, inspired and craving for more.

Fun Facts: I have a dent in my right quad because my muscle collapsed when I was a baby. My favorite place in the world is exploring a place i've never been. If money were no object, I'd volunteer with kids who have a less than blessed upbringing to provide a steady role model in their lives.

In 2009 a friend urged me to try a hot yoga class, and I've never looked back!  I've been actively practicing since then and completed my 200 hour yoga certification program in 2013.  

I love helping others and encouraging people to find the positives in all circumstances.  In addition to my passion for yoga I love being a mother, therapist, and spending time with our family dog.  

I am excited to be a part of the Twist team and share my love of yoga with others.

Amanda spent the first 25 years of her life mostly out of the present moment. From her first yoga class on, she realized this powerful practice created space and strength in not only the body but the mind as well. This space was the perfect way to ease the anxiety she had been struggling with for years. It is through teaching yoga she has realized her greatest blessing is to "see" each person she encounters and she tries to help fellow yogis find and see themselves as powerful, purposeful people both on and off their mats.

Yoga has started to shape each aspect of Amanda's life. She loves how yoga has made her grateful for small moments, like tearing down a barn to make reclaimed furniture with her boyfriend. She finds much joy in Starbucks chai tea, Chipotle burrito bowls, and baking double chocolate cupcakes with her niece and nephew. When she is not on her mat, you can find her working as a counselor for adolescents at a local hospital.
